Dr.-Ing. Matthias Jacob has been in charge of Business Unit Implenia Buildings Germany since January 2018. He has been working in the construction industry since 1987. He worked in various management functions, including from 2007 to 2010 as Chairman of the Management Board of Bilfinger Hochbau GmbH and from 2011 to 2017 as Technical Managing Director of Wolff & Müller Holding GmbH & Co. KG.
Dr. Jacob is particularly committed to the topic of building quality in planning, implementation and operation as well as for an interdisciplinary exchange on quality optimization in projects. Since 2005 Dr. Jacob intensively deals with the aspects of the sustainability of real estate. In addition, he favors the step-by-step process optimization to increase the effectiveness of construction (lean management) and, in particular, the introduction and further development of BIM (Building Information Modeling) - digitization in the construction value creation chain.
In addition to his membership in the Advisory Board of the Master's degree program REM and CPM as well as a teaching assignment at the University of Wuppertal, he lectures at various German universities and at specialist congresses. Matthias Jacob is Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Concrete and Construction Technology Association and Vice Chair of the “planen-bauen 4.0” initiative founded in February 2015.
